The Committee would like to thank everybody who made this year’s show a success despite the wind!
Thanks to all outlets for supplying schedules. We would like to thank those who helped erect and dismantle our field, in particular: Steven Malcolmson, Alan Adamson, David Adamson, Stuart Downing, Conon MacKenzie, Shetland Young Farmers; and those who helped with car parking, Sam Pearson and the TA Cadets.
Thanks to the judges and stewards who tended to 2077 entries; all our sponsors including our main sponsor A Jarmson Shetland Ltd; our gate keepers; Wilma Thomson who cleaned all 123 trophies and Pamela Halcrow who presented them; Hannah Ross for invaluable admin support and Chris Faulkner for being MC. Thanks to those who donated raffle prizes.
For making the Show a good visitor experience we thank the 60+ tradestands who coped admirably with the last minutes changes, the event caterers, Shetland Boccia Club and Shetland Rugby Club for managing the Hall teas, Trevor Jamieson for the bairn’s singalong, all who provided live music in the Hall and to those who took vintage tractors to the show. Thank you to Joan Smith for organising the sports and Cee & Jays for sponsoring the medals.
Finally, a big thank you to the exhibitors who produced an excellent array of exhibits and the visiting public for making all the effort worthwhile. The community spirit shown this year was hugely encouraging! Hope to see you all in 2024!
